Tommaso PUNTELLI
Tommaso Puntelli was born in Pinerolo (TO) in 1974. At the age of 19 he joined the school of violinmaking in Milano and after in Cremona under the guide of master Nadia Mantovani, Primo Pistoni and Giorgio Ce', living for several years in the town of Cremona where he worked and collaborated with many makers.
He moved to Germany where he focused on classical and baroque set-ups, and from there he moved to Salzburg (Austria) where he worked for three years in the workshop Mucke-Elscheck learning the techniques of restauration and set-up on the old instruments, bow repair and rehair.
Recently he conducted a workshop for the Kurosawa music company in Tokyo. Since 2011 he works in the tuscany country side close to Florence focusing on restauration maintenance and bow care.
He creates new instruments of the classical string quartet based on the Italian masters.
